Sleeping Lady wins State Environmental and Management Awards for third consecutive year

2004 Enviro - Management & Outstanding Manager of the Year Awards
Sleeping Lady has once again been recognized as the best example of integrating environmental management practices within Washington state's lodging community. The Washington State Hotel and Lodging Association presented their Enviro-Management award to Paula Helsel, General Manager at October's annual conference in Union, Washington. This is one of four achievement awards presented by WSH&LA each year at their Stars of the Industry Awards Ceremony. The award criteria includes documented successes in energy conservation, solid waste reduction, water conservation, natural landscaping and environmentally responsible purchasing practices.
Jim Emmons, Facilities and Grounds Manager for Sleeping Lady, was honored at the same awards ceremony for his outstanding management and leadership skills. An employee since 2002, Jim demonstrates natural management and leadership skills. Under his leadership his employees have flourished into a strong team that work well together within the department and with all other departments. He has a talent for recognizing the strengths in his employees and instilling trust in his team. The staff and management of Sleeping Lady are proud of Jim and his achievements.
