Paula Helsel, general manager of Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat in Leavenworth, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Washington State Hotel and Lodging Association. Helsel joined Sleeping Lady in 2000 and was promoted to general manager in 2003. She started her career in hospitality and lodging with Hilton Hotels in 1984. Helsel is also vice president of Icicle Arts, an organization devoted to promoting the Upper Wenatchee Valley as an arts destination.
