Summer, Spring & Fall Activities Around Town

  • Take a spin! Explore the surrounding area on two wheels. Bike rentals are available at the Mercantile.
  • Take a hike! The 4-mile, Icicle River Gorge Loop Trail, makes for a perfect early or late season hike. Its good tread and gentle terrain also make it ideal for wee ones. 15.3 miles up Icicle Road.
  • Giddy Up! Take a guided horseback ride with our neighbors at Icicle Outfitters. Call 509-669-1518 for reservations.
  • Fore! Try your hand at golf on an 18-hole Bavarian Golf Course or a championship putting course. Icicle Junction, 505 Hwy. 2, and Enzian Falls Champion Putting Course, 590 Hwy. 2.
  • Take a self-guided tour of the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery. Learn about fish species raised and see thousands of young salmon in raceways and ponds. Address: 1270 Fish Hatchery Road.
  • Attend a live, outdoor show under the stars at the Ski Hill Amphitheater or Hatchery Park Stage. Leavenworth Summer Theater Box office: 509-548-2000, 1001 Front Street.
  • Enjoy a little farm fun in the country sun including a petting zoo, cow train ride, prop maze and more. Smallwood’s Farm, Hwy. 2 at milepost 103.
  • Hear the low and mellow tones of the Alphorn, as Bob Johnson or son, Rob wake the village. Address: Enzian Inn, 8:15 & 9:15 am, 590 Hwy. 2.
  • Try out Leavenworth’s pump track and skate park at Enchantment Park, 700 Hwy. 2.
  • Fish on! Visit the Trout Unlimited Fishing Pond at Enchantment Park. The 20 feet deep, pond is fed by fresh water springs, is stocked with trout by Trout Unlimited and is open to fisherman under 15 years of age.
  • The Gingerbread Factory opened its doors in 1988 and has been crafts gingerbread cookies, houses and more ever since. It’s a favorite among local wee ones, especially after a visit to Cascade Medical Center Family Physician for a shot. Address: 828 Commercial Street.
  • Ice cream, you scream we all scream for ice cream! Whistlepunk Ice Cream, churning small batch ice cream, made in the Northwest. Opening on Front Street in the summer of 2018.
