Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, our sister property is dedicated to celebrating excellence in the lively arts and inspiring generations of artists and audiences through exceptional experiences, live performances, and special events -- all in the breathtaking, natural setting of the mountain meadows.
Supporting the environment, the arts and history in the Wenatchee River Watershed and neighboring landscapes, through innovative collaboration. The Icicle Fund was established in 1999 by Harriet Bullitt to support the work of five named partner organizations in protecting the environment, advancing the arts and promoting the natural and cultural history of the Wenatchee River watershed; later its area grew to include the North Central Washington region counties of Chelan, Okanogan, Douglas and Grant. A portion of Sleeping Lady profits benefit the Icicle Fund.
KOHO, located on the grounds of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, is a unique blend of local news and a variety of eclectic music. At KOHO, we strive to offer listeners an alternative product. Musically we mix adult alternative artists such as Norah Jones, John Mayer,Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton and Alanis Morissette. We feature insightful interviews with local and regional newsmakers as well as an in-depth look at community issues and events. KOHO serves the communities of Leavenworth, Cashmere and Wenatchee. Sleeping Lady Foundation brings speakers and events to our local area, giving us the opportunity to meet and learn from people who are "changing the world." Past speakers have included Wangari Maathai, the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; Morris Dees, founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center; Maya Lin, creator of the Vietnam War Memorial; Zainab Salbi, founder of Women for Women International; Mark Bittman, author of Food Matters; John Dau, one of the lost boys of the Sudan who was featured in the award-winning documentary God Grew Tired of Us; the "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Milan, and many more.
